Tramway Trail - West Clear Creek Wilderness

This canyon hike had it all - views, height, switchbacks, rock climbing, animals, and a creek.   It was a steep descent (700 feet) to the creek.  And proved to be a challenge going down and up for all of us, but well worth it!  There was just as much of an adventure getting to the canyon, as there was hiking it.

Views from the top of the canyon - beginning of the trailhead.

Damian checking out the old cable tram that was used from 1942 - 1965 to stock the creek with trout.
Beginning our journey to the creek.

Getting closer to the bottom.

Health Update...

I had another surgery a week ago to correct the capsular contracture that developed after radiation.  The pain from this surgery brought back feelings from my original tumor removal surgery 3 years ago.  Took me several days to recover, but I am very pleased with the results so far.  I'll give my body a few months to recover and decide from there what the next step will be.

In January, I started having some issues with shortness of breath, rapid breathing, rapid heartbeat, fatigue, and heart palpitations/flutters.  I spent most of February and March running from doctor to doctor for blood work, scans, x-rays - procedure, after procedure, after procedure.  It became quite frustrating, but eventually a diagnosis came.  I have mitral regurgitation (added to my mitral valve prolapse).  It is a heart valve disorder where the mitral valve does not close properly and allows blood to flow backwards into my heart.

For now it's considered minor and I just need monitoring by my heart doctor.  If it progresses I may need medication or surgery to repair the valve down the road.  Just have to learn to listen to my body and rest when symptoms occur.
